This project involved a comprehensive transformation of a 1977 mountain home in Morrison, Colorado. We expanded a small primary bath into a spacious ensuite by repurposing the adjacent guest bedroom. The redesign included relocating and enlarging the primary closet from 25 to 71 square feet, incorporating custom-built shelves for shoes, clothes, and bags, and adding a dresser to create a minimalist bedroom.
Moving the washer and dryer from the main floor to the second floor improved functionality, providing direct access to laundry facilities. A custom countertop was installed for folding clothes, complemented by two wall cabinets for cleaning supplies and a hanging rod for drying.
A new water closet was introduced for enhanced privacy, requiring a 4-foot shift of the toilet. The updated bathroom features elegant marble tile flooring with an in-floor heating system, ideal for the cold mountain climate. A freestanding tub, positioned near the window, allows for relaxing soaks with expansive views.
The custom shower, adorned with contemporary vertical stacked tile, offers both ample space and modern style. The custom Cherry vanity from Dura Supreme provides luxurious storage, complemented by a nearby linen cabinet. This complete remodel not only enhances the home’s functionality but also elevates its aesthetic, blending contemporary elegance with practical design.
